J.D. Wolf, 81, of Versailles, husband to Sandra Taliaferro Wolf, passed away Saturday April 1, 2017. He was born in Grant's Lick, Kentucky, on March 1, 1936, to the late John Joseph and Lula Vader Wolf. J.D. was retired from the Department of Agriculture and a former chairman for Woodford County Planning and Zoning. Survivors include his children, daughter, Marcy Van Hoose, Louisville, and sons Greg (Patty) Wolf, Lawrenceburg, and Michael (Ashlee) Wolf, Florence; a sister, Janet (Bob) Herbst, Richmond; seven grandchildren, John, Megan, Haleigh, Morgan, Brooke, Emily, and Matthew; and four great-grandchildren, Sophia, Kellen, Walker, and Ashlynn. He was preceded in death by a brother, Junior Wolf. J.D. leaves behind many friends who he would see at the courthouse and through town on his daily walks. Services were conducted Tuesday, April 4, by Andrew Sowards. Burial was in Rose Crest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association.
