WCHS girls’ tennis scores 5-3 win over Lafayette

The Woodford County High School girls’ tennis team battled Lafayette and the wind at the Falling Springs tennis complex on Monday, April 10, and scored a 5-3 over the Generals. To do so, they won five of six singles matches, while losing both of their doubles matches. In singles, at No. 1, Addison Beck, lost her match 8-3 to Michayle Gatos. Then at No. 2, Reagan Jobe defeated Emma Prigge, 8-5, and at No. 3 Nicole Feldner defeated Daisey Green, 8-4. In the No. 4 match, Alyssa Feldner defeated Tevy Toleman, 8-0, and at No. 5 Ellington King defeated Jayden Riggs, 8-4. In the final singles match of the meet, at No. 6 Katie Batman defeated Riggs, 8-4. In the double competition, Woodford had a hard time on this day and dropped both matches. At No. 1, Nicole Feldner and Alyssa Feldner lost to Gatos and Prigge, 8-5, while at No. 2, Caroline Miller and Allison Miller lost to Green and Toleman, 8-5. Next up for the girls’ team, they play at Sayre today, Thursday, April 13. Then on Monday and Tuesday they play two home matches. On Monday they face Tates Creek and on Tuesday they face Scott County. They follow that with two road games. On Wednesday, April 19 they are at Bryan Station and on Thursday, April 20, they play at Dunbar.
