Police Reports Versailles police responded to three injury accidents, 11 non-injury wrecks and made three arrests. On April 10 at 9:10 a.m., a Ford F-350 driven by George K. Willmott, 57, of 4855 Old Frankfort Pike, was passing a state road crew on Old Frankfort Pike chipping trees at a slow rate of speed. An inmate of the Woodford County Detention Center, Matthew W. Phillips, 26, was unaware that Willmott's vehicle was overtaking the road crew and stepped into his vehicle's path. Phillips was struck in the leg and foot, and treated at Bluegrass Community Hospital and released. On April 10 at 3:58 p.m., a Dodge Journey driven by Shannon K. Tierney, 28, of 177 Paddock Drive, was headed east on Tyrone Pike. Meanwhile, a Kia Optima driven by Deborah J. Lancaster, 44, of 115 St. Clair Street, and a Ford Escape driven by Stacey N. Black, 33, or Lawrenceburg, were westbound on Tyrone Pike. Lancaster said as she rounded a curve, Tierney's vehicle was over the center line and partially in her lane. Lancaster swerved left into the east-bound lane to avoid a head-on collision, but was struck by Tierney's vehicle. Lancaster's car went back across the the westbound lane and into a grassy shoulder. Black said he couldn't avoid Tierney's vehicle, and the two vehicles collided head-on. Tierney, Black, and a passenger in Lancaster's vehicle, April M. Lancaster, 17, were taken to UK Chandler Hospital. Police say inattention and not being under proper control on the part of Tierney were factors in the wreck. On April 10 at 6:37 p.m., a Ford Fusion driven by Christopher Bentley, 37, of 820 Mildred Street, was headed north on Midway Road when the vehicle dropped off the right side, overcorrected and struck a Kentucky Utilities pole, which it knocked down. The vehicle then rolled three times before coming to rest upside-down. Bentley was examined by Woodford County EMS workers, but refused to be taken to a hospital. Police say not being under proper control and overcorrecting/understeering were factors in the crash. On April 10, the right rear tire of a Chrysler 300 on Dan Drive was reported vandalized, with damage estimated at $125. On April 8, tools worth $50 were reported stolen from a home on Macey Avenue. On April 13, police made an arrest at Doughdaddy's for violation of an EPO, possession of synthetic drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. On April 12, a vehicle was reported leaving the scene of an accident in a Midway University parking lot. On April 12, police made an arrest on Lexington Road for DUI and possession of marijuana. On April 13, a Honda lawnmower worth $400 was reported stolen from a home on Macey Boulevard. On April 13, a Toyota Tacoma was reported vandalized on Versailles Road, with damage estimated at $450. On April 11, a wedding ring and pinky ring worth a total of $600 were reported stolen from a home on Deerfield Drive. On April 15, wire and PVC fittings worth a total of $650 were reported stolen from a home on Mildred Street. On April 12, police made an arrest on Berlin Drive for possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia. On April 12, a Lexington Road store reported the shoplifting of $61 worth of merchandise. On April 11, a report was made of marijuana trafficking and possession of Xanax at a Lexington Road bank, with $1,140 in cash found at the scene.
