William Howard Spencer, 68, of Versailles, husband of Janie Spencer, died Monday, April 17, 2017. A native of Woodford County, he was born on March 17, 1949, the son of the late Charles and Lida Duncan Spencer. He worked as a brake operator for Trane in Lexington for 40 years and was a veteran in the United States Army, serving in Vietnam. He was also a member of Southside Christian Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Steven (Amanda) Spencer, Versailles; a sister, Patricia Jackson, Georgetown; two brothers, Charles Byron (Julia) Spencer, Stafford, Va., and Stacy Spencer. Five sisters and a brother are deceased. Services were conducted Friday, April 21, at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill, by the Rev. Keith Willoughby. Burial was in the Midway Cemetery. Casket bearers were Clyde Adams, Steve Mattingly, Christian Creech, Mannie Pinales, Scott Azure and Allen Thurman.
