Receiving stolen property - Kyle D. Robinson, Indianapolis, Ind., two days with credit. Police Reports Versailles police responded to four injury accidents, two non-injury wrecks, two domestic-related complaints and made five arrests. On April 25 at noon, a Cadillac CTS driven by Leisha C. Sexton, 55, of Lexington, and a GMC Yukon driven by Kimberlee A. Doherty, 62, of Lexington, were eastbound on the U.S. 60 Bypass. Doherty was stopped at a red light at the intersection of Big Sink Road when her vehicle was rear-ended by Sexton's. Sexton told police she thought she was stopped and the vehicle just lurched forward. She was taken to UK Chandler Hospital. Police say her vehicle was not under proper control. On April 25 at 11:13 p.m., Edward Jarvis, 47, of Lawrenceburg, was westbound on the Blue Grass Parkway on his custom motorcycle. He told police a small red pick-up truck struck the rear of his motorcycle and continued west, causing him to lose control and wreck. A witness said he didn't see another vehicle, but did see Jarvis lose control. Police say there was no evidence of another vehicle involved and that Jarvis had a strong odor of alcohol. A preliminary blood sample from Jarvis at UK Chandler Hospital indicated the presence of alcohol. On April 26 at 10:41 a.m., a Honda Goldwing ridden by Roger W. Early, 59, of Lexington, was traveling on McCracken Pike exiting a curve when Early lost control and the motorcycle went into a ditch. He was treated at the scene by Woodford EMS workers. Police say his vehicle was not under proper control. On April 26 at 5:17 p.m., a Lincoln Towncar driven by Edgar Oliveras, 57, of 205 Wooldridge Lane, was pulling into a parking spot of an apartment complex on Clifton Road. He told police he thought he had his foot on the brake, but hit the gas instead. His vehicle drove into an apartment and pushed a couch and its occupant across the room. No one was injured. Police say Oliveras's vehicle was not under proper control. On April 25, an Oxford Road resident reported $4,000 stolen from bank accounts. On April 30, a lock of a vending machine in front of Save A Lot was reported broken and $100 in change stolen. On April 27, a vehicle was reported leaving the scene of an accident on Adena Court that caused $1,000 in damage to a brick mailbox. On April 27, a Ford Fusion worth $5,000 was reported stolen on Keokuk Court. On April 27, police made an arrest in the Kroger parking lot for DUI, possession of marijuana, and operating on a suspended/revoked operator's license. On April 28, burglary and operating on a suspended/revoked license were reported on Fords Mill Road. On April 28, a stolen debit card was reported at a Lexington Road restaurant. On April 28, first degree wanton endangerment and second degree assault were reported on Hippe-Agee Road. On April 18, $500 in damage to glass was reported in a Maple Street lot. On April 29, jewelry worth $700 was reported stolen from a home on Elizabeth Street. On April 23, police made an arrest on Lexington Road for possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia. On April 27, police made an arrest involving a $240 counterfeit check at a Lexington Street gas station. On April 29, police made an arrest on Troy Pike involving DUI, operating on a suspended/revoked operator's license, no registration plates and possession of marijuana. On April 25, a Samsung Galaxy tablet worth $220 was reported stolen from a building on Beasley Road. On April 19, a Troy Built pressure washer worth $395 was reported stolen from a home on Morgan Street. On April 21, a forged check was reported at a Rose Hill Avenue liquor store. On April 20, harassment was reported at a restaurant on Kroger Way. Fire Reports City Firefighters performed 22 EMS assists and installed two child safety seats during the past week. Firefighters responded to vehicle accidents on Bowmar at Lexington Street April 25, on Clifton Road April 26, and on Kroger Way (vehicle striking a pedestrian) May 1. Firefighters helped free persons from an elevator at United Bank April 25 and May 1. A smoke detector was accidentally activated at a South Hill Road residence April 26. County Firefighters performed three EMS assists during the past week. Smoke from popcorn popping activated an alarm at Taylor Manor Nursing Home April 25. Firefighters responded to vehicle accidents on Military Pike and the Blue Grass Parkway April 25, on Pinckard Pike and I-64 April 27 (two incidents), on I-64 April 29, and on the parkway April 30. A utility pole fire was extinguished on Delaney Ferry Road May 1. Smoke from an oven activated an alarm at the Methodist Home May 2.
