Manuel L. Davis, 64, of Lexington, died Tuesday, May 2, 2017. Born Sept. 15, 1952, in Midway, he was the son of the late Clifton and Mildred Kennedy Davis. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Survivors include a son, Manuel Davis, Lexington; two daughters, Chelsea Davis and Sherise (Cedrick) Hurst, both of Lexington; four sisters, Vivian Taylor, Victoria Davis, and Lucinda Davis, all of Lexington, and WahWah (Calvin) Rideau, Virginia; eight grandchildren, Xazavion Davis, Reeca Davis, Enrique Davis, Andreus Mayberry, Dominick Mayberry, Jordan Hurst, Sydney Hurst, and Skylar Hurst; a great-grandchild, Enrique Davis Jr; and numerous nieces and nephews. A sister, Eleanor Russell; and four brothers, Roy, Lamar, Wade and Jake Davis, are deceased. Services were conducted Saturday, May 6, at Pilgrim Baptist Church, Midway, by Elder Chris Wright. Burial was in the Midway Cemetery.
