Art in The Park: Artist Profile

Artist Lynn Key is a middle-manager by day and works on her craft at home by night. She found that designing and sewing was relaxing and relieved stress. Nearing retirement, Lynn sought out a new career to occupy her time. After raising three boisterous boys to manhood, Lynn was thrilled when her granddaughter, Samantha, arrived. It was a joy to have someone for whom she could sew. Although she sewed all her life, Lynn admits, "it just isn't as much fun sewing for boys." Her granddaughter is a "girly-girl" who loves wearing dresses everywhere. Once Samantha started walking, Lynn just kept increasing the size of her favorite sundress pattern as Samantha grew. Both Lynn and Samantha got so many compliments on it, Lynn was asked to make sundresses for her friends' granddaughters. Then she started a site called Samantha's Sundresses on the Internet site, Etsy. Lynne says the dresses are designed to hit mid-calf. She suggests if your little one just moved from a 3T to 4T, you would select the smaller size.
