John Steven Bailie, 51, of Middlesex, N.C., died Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at his home. Born Oct. 1, 1965, in Cadiz Ky., he was the son of James Douglas and Ammie Beth Vaught Bailie of Hillsboro, Ill. A former resident of Hopkins County, Ky., he was a graduate of South Hopkins High School, Class of 1984. He was a welder by trade. Survivors include a son, John Austin Bailie, Paducah; a daughter, Stephanie Christian Bailie, Owensboro; two grandchildren, Landon Bailie and Liam Bailie; five brothers, Joel (LaDonna) Bailie Versailles, Jerry (Sabrina) Bailie Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Ray "Charlie" Bailie, Madisonville, Phillip Bailie, Lexington, and Michael (Deanna) Bailie, Hoopeston, Ill., and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. His grandparents, Paul and Geneva Bailie, Lancaster, Wis., and John and Minnie Vaught, Webster, Minn., are deceased. A gathering of family and friends was held on Saturday, May 20, at Schram City Baptist Church, Schram City, Ill. Interment followed at Cress Hill Cemetery, Hillsboro, Ill.
