Leadership Woodford County applications available

The Woodford County Chamber of Commerce and the Woodford County Cooperative Extension Service announce that applications are now available for the 2017-2018 Leadership Woodford County program. Leadership Woodford County provides a forum for leaders and future leaders to study our community and learn the skills they will need to help promote change, improve our quality of life, and lead. The program, beginning in September 2017 and continuing through May 2018, features monthly all-day meetings that will highlight different aspects of the community. Sessions will include orientation (Sept. 7), agriculture and tourism (Oct. 12), industry and economic development (Nov. 2), health care (Dec. 7), state government (Jan. 4), local government (Feb. 1), education (March 1), and law and justice (April 12). The program will conclude on May 3 with a graduation ceremony to honor those who successfully complete the program. Applications may be obtained at the Woodford County Chamber of Commerce or the Woodford County Extension Office and can be requested at woodforddirector@gmail.com. The cost of the program is $200, which includes all transportation, meals, and activities at each session. Applications are due Aug. 9. The number of participants accepted into the program is limited. For more information, contact the Woodford County Chamber of Commerce at 873-5122 or the Extension office at 873-4601.
