WC’s Ellington King & Ruby claim four blue ribbons at WC Fair Horse Show

Ellington King, it turns out, is a two-sport star athlete in Woodford County. However, her former classmates might have only known about one of those sports. In the spring, King, who graduated from Woodford County High School this year, played tennis on her high school team. Jump forward to Saturday, June 10, and King appeared at the Woodford County Fair for their annual horse show. There, with her horse, Ruby, she won blue ribbons in four of the nine classes at the show. What makes her accomplishment even more interesting is that it was the first horse show that King participated in with Ruby, who is a 17-year old Rocky Mountain horse. King will be attending Emory and Henry College in Virginia this fall, where she earned a scholarship to ride on the equestrian team. She plans to major in biology.
