University of Alabama Two University of Alabama students from Versailles received degrees during spring commencement, which was held May 5 to 7, 2017. Daniel Dougherty received a master of business administration degree. Matthew Fister received a bachelor of science degree in aerospace engineering. Western Kentucky University The following Western Kentucky University students from Woodford County were named to the dean's list for the spring 2017 semester: Robert N. Hicks and Taylor R. Berry, both of Midway, and Thomas J. Hickman, Sherah K. Devore, John B. Hudson, Allyson J. Singleton, Ali Boyd, Matthew G. Lawson, Nicole L. Ares, Brandon S. Bradley, and Merry E. Krueger, all of Versailles. The following students were named to the president's list for the spring 2017 semester: Caitlin N. Sullivan, Miranda K. Kittinger, Benjamin J. Luckett, Hannah R. Freeman, Grayson K. Fuller, Ashley E. Peterson, Hunter M. Boyd, Emily G. Lawrence, Madison N. Osbourn, Delaney K. Taylor, Rebekah D. Alvey, Brandon F. Varble, Kristen N. Eads, Sadie E. Downs, Hannah L. Krueger, Brittany S. Johnson, and Ashley M. Scalf, all of Versailles. Shawnee State University William J. Lynch of Versailles, a student at Shawnee State University, received an associate of arts, general studies degree at a commencement ceremony held on Saturday, May 6, 2017. Transylvania University Rachel Elizabeth Farmer of Versailles has been named to the dean's list at Transylvania University for the winter 2017 term. A 2005 graduate of Woodford County High School, she is majoring in neuroscience and psychology.
