Patricia K. Wood McNiel, 70, of Midway, wife of Robert E. McNiel, died Wednesday, June 14, 2017. Born April 21, 1947, in Marshalltown, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Merle and Mildred Clemons Wood. On Aug. 16, 1971, she was married to Robert E. McNiel in Huntington Beach, Calif. She was a registered nurse with CCU and OR experience and worked at Hoag Hospital, Chandler Medical Center, Central Baptist, and Surgery Center in Lexington before retiring in 1999. She enjoyed Disney, reading, pets, and spending time with her daughters and grandchild. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Kathryn (Dave) McNiel Fields, Lexington, and Kristine McNiel, Midway; and a granddaughter, Emily Tibbetts, Midway. A brother, Gary Wood, is deceased. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, June 25, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Road, Frankfort. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Woodford Humane Society or the Woodford County Library.
