Lewis E. Lawson, 76, formerly of Versailles, husband of Ethel (Murphy) Lawson, died Saturday, July 1, 2017, at his home. Born March 5, 1941, in Liberty, he was the son of the late Hershel and Opal (Overstreet) Lawson. He was a farmer, a member of the Methodist church, and enjoyed playing Rook and fishing. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Lewis "Eddie" (Linda) Lawson Jr., Salvisa; a sister, Ruth (Steve) Hollan, Winchester; two brothers, Bobby Lawson, Harrodsburg, and Carlos Lawson, Simpsonville; two grandchildren, Ed, and Christopher Lawson; and three great-grandchildren, Logan, Lincoln and Lucas Lawson. A sister, Beulah Armstrong, and a brother, Wesley Lawson, are deceased. A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, July 7, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, by George Hunter. The family requests memorial donations be sent to COPD Foundation, 3300 Ponce De Leon Blvd, Miami, FL 33134.
