Ockerman to play for The Citadel

Jack Ockerman, a 2017 Woodford County High School graduate, will be attending The Citadel in Charleston, S.C., in the fall. The Citadel, also known as the Military College of South Carolina, is one of six senior military colleges in the U.S. Ockerman was recruited to play Division 1 baseball for The Citadel Bulldogs, where he will have the opportunity to be a two-way player. Ockerman plans to major in business administration and attend Navy/Marine Corps ROTC classes. Ockerman finished his high school career with many postseason accolades. He was awarded the 11th Region Player of the Year, 2017 KHSAA Baseball All-State Team, 11th Region All-Tournament Team, All District Team and All-District Tournament MVP. Ockerman finished the season with a .428 batting average, 165 at bats with only 2 strikeouts, and 39 stolen bases. While pitching, Jack had a 1.04 ERA and 85 strikeouts.
