Lacefield and Caine represent state at world championship

Bradford Lacefield and Abigail Caine represented the State of Kentucky at the 2017 USKids World Championship held in Pinehurst, N.C. Lacefield qualified for the world championship by winning the Charleston, W.Va., tour in his age group and received his invitation this spring to play at Pinehurst. Caine qualified for the event by finishing second in the Copperhead Classic at Innisbrook in Florida in January. Both young players are members at Moss Hill Golf Course in Woodford County. The world championship was held Aug. 3 to 5, and both players also participated in the world championship team challenge held on Aug. 1. Lacefield finished 144th in an extremely difficult field of more than 170 10-year-old golfers. Caine tied for 24th in a field of 79 of the top-notch 8-year-old golfers. This was Caine's second trip to the world championship, as she finished 28th as a seven-year-old last year.
