Laura Bowman Robinson, 87, widow of Willie Dee Robinson Jr., died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017, at Baptist Health in Lexington. Born July 16, 1930, in Woodford County, she was the daughter of the late William Alonzo and Stella Mae Bowman. Survivors include four children, Janice Embs, Woodford County, Dana (Randy) Christian, Woodford County, Kenny (Marti) Robinson, Lawrenceburg, and Tim Robinson, Versailles; seven grandchildren, Kelly Dale (Ericcia) Briscoe, Georgetown, Kenna Marie Osborne, Lawrenceburg, Joshua Kent (Michael) Robinson, Kalamazoo, Mich., and David Shea Christian, Daniel Logan Christian, Jared Michael Christian, and Jacob Andrew Christian, all of Woodford County; six great-grandchildren, Kevin William (Jill) Briscoe, Georgetown, Ashlee Renee Briscoe, Frankfort, Cody Patrick Wayne Briscoe, Mercer County, Leslie Ann Briscoe, Woodford County, Emma Rhea Osborne, Lawrenceburg, and Haylee Niccole Briscoe, Georgetown; two great-great-grandchildren, Lexi Ann and Mikenlee Kraus, Frankfort; three sisters, Anna Belle Gill, Woodford County, and Kitty Katherine Riddle and Alma Jean Warford, both of Lawrenceburg; and several, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ten siblings, Lawrence Bowman, Edith Carter, Annetta Robinson, Lonzo Bowman Jr., Alford "Doc" Bowman, Lora "June" Serber, Johnny Bowman, Lila Goins, Kelly Bowman, and Goldie Bowman, and a grandson, Kevin Lee Briscoe, are deceased. Services were conducted Friday, Aug. 4, at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home by Bro. Kenny Robinson and Bro. David Christian. Burial followed at Rose Crest Cemetery. Casket bearers were her grandsons and great-grandsons.
