Margaret Dixon Blackburn, 92, of Galveston, Texas, formerly of Versailles, widow of Leslie J. "Ikey" Blackburn Jr., died Friday, Aug. 4, 2017. She was born Oct. 11, 1924, in Louisville. She lived throughout the state until finally moving to Versailles in 1936. She met and married Leslie J. "Ikey" Blackburn here, and they bought Miller Rasnick Funeral home in 1954. She was a longtime member of the Versailles Presbyterian and Methodist Churches. She was a longtime employee and retiree of Rand McNally Corporation, rising from secretary to personnel manager. Survivors include a son, Leslie J. Blackburn III (Esmenia); six grandchildren, Leslie J. Blackburn IV, Thirty Lacy, Ninety Lacy (Jocelyn), Twenty Stephenson (Steve), Suzanne Maxwell (Joe), and Jeremy Ashley (Paula); six great-grandchildren Gage and Kayleigh Blackburn, Celeste Lacy, Freedom Stephenson, Tristan Lacy and Joseph Maxwell; two sisters, Lucinda Dixon Sullivan and Mary Dixon Warren (Harry); and two nephews, Bill Phelps (Gerri) and Mike Blackburn. A daughter Beverly Gayle Blackburn, is deceased. Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home. Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday. Burial will follow at the Versailles Cemetery.
