Frank (John Franklin) Anderson, 73, of Versailles, husband of Ruth Farris Anderson, died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017. Born Aug. 9, 1944, in Charleston, W.Va., he was the son of the late Marvin A. and Mary Clay Anderson. He retired from the Lexington Herald-Leader after 42 years as a photographer, where he covered many news and sporting events, including UK athletics, the Kentucky Derby, the Breeders' Cup, and the World Series. He attended Lafayette High School (class of 1962) and Morehead State University. He was a member of Tates Creek Christian Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Anderson; a son, Brian (Lori) Anderson; five grandchildren, Nicolas, Jaden, Cameron, Jacob, and Kaylee Anderson; a brother, Tommy (Bonnie) Anderson; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Services were conducted Saturday, Aug. 26, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home (Harrodsburg Road), Lexington.
