High school golf recap
The Woodford County High School boys' golf team lost to Sayre 175-184 on Aug. 23 at Tates Creek Golf Course. Grayson Johnson fired a 42 to lead the Jackets. Richard Osborn (45) and Joe Kowalke (48) were the other top scorers. The following day, the Jackets hosted Mercer County at Moss Hill Golf Course. Mercer County won the match 171-193. Johnson, Tanner Coffman and Jack Browning all shot 48 for the Jackets. The Jackets will host Scott County today, Thursday, Aug. 31, at Moss Hill. On the girls' side, the Lady Jackets defeated Sayre at Moss Hill on Aug. 24. Jesse Sanders led the way with a 47 while Rachel Baston and Addison Beck each shot 50. The Lady Jackets will host Lexington Christian Academy today at Moss Hill.
