Lawn care business requesting board’s okay
A public hearing has been scheduled on Monday, Sept. 11, for an administrative review of a request to operate a lawn care business at 185 Frankfort Street, B-4 (business) district. Following the hearing on the request from owner Thomas E. Jones and applicant Rodney King (Bluegrass Lawn Care), the Versailles-Midway-Woodford County Board of Adjustment (BOA) will make a determination on whether or not a lawn care business is of the same general character as other uses in the B-4 district. Also on the agenda, a hearing on King’s request for a 10-foot setback variance in order to place a monument sign at the edge of the Frankfort Street right-of-way at 185 Frankfort Street. Other requests: Woodford Habitat for Humanity will ask for two variances in order to build townhouses at 246 and 248 Martin Luther King Boulevard; and JMS Real Estate, LLC, wants a front-porch elevation variance (New Urban Code) for 237, 239, 241 and 243 Abbey Road. The BOA’s meeting on Sept. 11 is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. in the second-floor courtroom of the Woodford County Courthouse.
