Glenn "Tommy" Thompson, 65, of Versailles, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2017. Born Aug. 15, 1952, in Springfield, Ohio, he was the son of Jane Knight Thompson of Ohio and the late Glenn Oris Thompson Sr. He worked as a printer for Post Printing and was a member of Versailles Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir. He was also a member of the Lexington theatre community and coached both Little League and recreational league basketball. He trained and owned standardbred horses as well. In addition to his mother, he is survived by three daughters, Emerson Thompson, Lexington, Serena Janeann Wright, England, and Tess Thompson, Versailles; two sons, Joe Thompson, Lexington, and Everett Thompson, Versailles; a sister, Pamela (Marvin) Williams, North Carolina; and a brother, Tim (Toni) Thompson, Ohio. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, at Versailles Baptist Church, followed by a celebration of life service conducted by the Rev. Michael Cabell. Memorial donations may be made to Naco Mexico Orphanage Fund, c/o Versailles Baptist Church, 125 E Green St, Versailles, KY 40383.
