John Edwards Cooper, 63, husband of Therese Marie Cooper, died unexpectedly on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017, while on an annual fishing trip in Utah with friends. Born Oct. 16, 1953, in Nelsonville, Ohio, he was the son of the late Warren Wilmont and Bettie Ruth Cooper. He was a graduate of Ohio University and worked as a financial advisor. On May 24, 1985, he married Therese Marie Trometer. He was an active member of the Versailles United Methodist Church and of Bible study fellowship. He was also a member and past-president of the Kiwanis Club of the Blue Grass. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Ryan Joshua (Laura Stella) Cooper, Playa Vista, Calif.; a sister, Cynthia Ann (Richard Lee) Varnado, Boerne, Texas; and a nephew, Brandon Michael (Christy) Varnado, Woodland Park, Colo. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, Sept. 5, at Versailles United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Woodford Humane Society, PO Box 44, Versailles, KY, 40383.
