Golf Notes

The Woodford County boys' golf team was victorious in its match against Western Hills Sept. 7 at Moss Hill Golf Course. The Jackets tallied 176 strokes while Western Hills had 206. Tanner Coffman led the way with a 40, and Grayson Johnson shot a 42 to lead the Jackets. Jack Browning chipped in with a 46, and Richard Osborn fired a 47 after shooting a career-low 41 the previous week against Scott County. On Monday, the Jackets fell short to Anderson County 164-180 at Wild Turkey Trace. Jack Browning had a team low score of 43. Grayson Johnson was solid with a 45. The Jackets host Lexington Christian Academy Thursday at Moss Hill. On the girls' side, the Lady Jackets lost a close match with Franklin County 200-205 on Sept. 7 at Moss Hill. Jesse Sanders shot a 44, and Rachel Baston fired a 45 on the day to lead the Lady Jackets. The Lady Jackets will travel to play Scott County at Cherry Blossom Golf Course on Sept. 18.
