Mildred Lee Crutchfield Gregory, 89, widow of Robert Miller Gregory, passed away Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017 in Lexington, Kentucky. Born in Woodford County, Kentucky, on Nov. 20, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Charles Grant and Annie Elizabeth Armstrong Crutchfield. Mildred was a graduate of Versailles High School, a member of Mt. Gilead United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and served as treasurer, and a member of the United Methodist Women. She served as Scott County Extension Homemaker President and later as president of the nine-county Bluegrass Area Extension Homemaker Association. She provided leadership for many projects and committees; among them was the Extension sponsored blood drive. She was an active member of the Eastern Hills Homemaker Club for at least 60 years. She was a devout Christian woman for almost 86 years, and a very giving woman who gave of her time and talents to her community. She and Robert were married for 53 years. She is survived by her children, Wayne (Diana) Gregory, Tom (Cathy) Gregory, Randy (Cindy) Gregory, and Paul Gregory, all of Georgetown, Kentucky; and her Chilean son, Juan Carlos Gutierrez W., of Osorno, Chile. Mildred is preceded in death by a son, Alan Lee Gregory, a brother, Wilbur Crutchfield, and a sister, Anna Lois Paul. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Robert Miller (Tracy) Gregory, Christy Dolan, Paige (Shawne) Mingua, Curtis Miller (Vilma) Gregory, Amie Lee (Rodney) Goodlett, Stephanie Nicole (Nathan) Joseph, and Andrea Kay (David) Badstibner; and 17 great-grandchildren. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Kathy (John) Crossfield. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 22, at Tucker, Yocum, & Wilson Funeral Home, Georgetown, by Pastor Dustin Woods. Burial will be in the Versailles Cemetery in Versailles, Kentucky, with pallbearers being Bobby Gregory, Curt Gregory, Shawne Mingua, Rodney Goodlett, Nathan Joseph, and David Badstibner. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Eastern Hills Homemakers. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Sept. 21, at the funeral home. (Paid obituary)
