Martha Ann Wade, 102, widow of Lee B. Wade, died Friday, Sept. 29. 2017. at The Homeplace at Midway. She had resided at Daisy Hill Senior Living Community for several years before moving to The Homeplace at Midway. Born in Louisville, she was a daughter of the late Oliver W. and Anna Whitehouse Spieth. She was a clerical employee for several businesses in Lexington, including a calculator for the tobacco industry during the winter months, and a member of Glen's Creek Baptist Church of Woodford County. Survivors include a daughter, Patti (Owen) Roberts, Versailles; two sons, Dick (Janet) Wade, Versailles, and Tommy (Pam) Wade, Tuscaloosa, Ala.; eight grandchildren, Rick (Debbie) Wade, Gus (Melody) Wade, Zack (Paige) Wade, Scott (Rhonda) Wade, Shawn (Mandy) Morris, Boo (Brent) Nuckols, Elizabeth (Colin Rafferty) Wade, and Rebecca (Andrew) Lewis; 16 great-grandchildren, Brooke (Josh) Lavy, Jacob Wade, Taylor Wade, Cooper Wade, Carter Wade, Bo Wade, Max Wade, Macey Wade, Ellie Wade, Bennett Morris, Gray Morris, Charlie Morris, Anna Nuckols, Eliza Nuckols, Lauren Lewis, and Emily Lewis. A grandson, Austin Wade, is deceased. Services were conducted Tuesday, Oct. 3, at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home by the Rev. Randy Nation. Burial was at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Casket bearers were Rick Wade, Gus Wade, Zack Wade, Scott Wade, Shawn Morris, and Brent Nuckols. Memorial donations are suggested to Christ Episcopal Church Pre-School, “In Memory of Austin Wade,” 605 Lurleen B. Wallace, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401.
