WCHS Cross Country earns trip to State Championship

The Woodford County High School Cross Country team competed in the KHSAA Region 6 Class AAA finals on October 28th. The meet was held at Lykins Park in Winchester, KY and was hosted by George Rogers Clark High School.
The Woodford County boys' cross country team finished fourth in the Regional standings with an average time of 18:27.71. Lafayette High School finished first in the overall team standings. Scott County was second and Dunbar was third. The boys' team will advance to the State championship on November 4th at the Kentucky Horse Park. Peter McGowan was the top Woodford finisher coming in 15th place overall.
The Lady Jackets finished eighth in the team standings. Dunbar High School finished in first place followed by George Rogers Clark and Tates Creek. Katie Gatewood who posted a terrific time in the Regional meet will advance to the State final as an individual.
