James Thomas “Tommy” Smith, 75, husband of Lennis Ann Shubert Smith, and former owner of Smith Barber Shop, passed away Monday, Nov. 13, 2017.

He was born on March 8, 1942, in Franklin County, son of the late James Dudley and Ruth Agnes Young Smith. Tommy was a graduate of Anderson County High School.

Survivors, in addition to his wife are his daughter, Diana Lynn Koonce (Jeff), of Lexington,; son, Dr. Steven Smith (Jennifer), of Prospect; step-son, Brent Green (Tracey), of Louisville; sister, Cheri Lynn (David), of Frankfort; five grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth Royse, Joseph Thomas Koonce, Mitchel Brent Green, James Alexander Smith, and Katherine Franklin Smith; one great grandson, James Maxwell Royse. Visitation will be held 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Friday, Nov. 17, at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Versailles Cemetery. Pallbearers are David Lynn, Jeff Koonce, Joseph Koonce, Mitchel Green, Jay Smith, and Tyler Royse. Honorary pallbearer is Stanley Carter. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Woodford County Historical Society, 121 Rose Hill Ave, Versailles, KY, 40383 or Charity of choice.
