Downey files for magistrate in the 5th district

A native of Woodford County, William is a 2004 graduate of WCHS. He attended the University of Kentucky, graduating with a BA in Communication and Minors in Political Science and Sociology. Since graduation, he has worked several years for Enterprise Holdings. In 2014, he began working for R. J. Corman Railroad Group and is currently R. J. Corman’s Government Affairs and Economic Development Manager. William currently serves as Treasurer of the WoodfordCounty Economic Development Authority Board (former Secretary), and is a member of the Versailles Kiwanis Club.

He previously served on Woodford County’s Planning and Zoning Commission.

“I look forward to serving the people of my community by bringing a new voice and fresh perspective to the Fiscal Court. Woodford County was a great place to grow up and I am thrilled to be raising my family here. I want to make sure that my daughter and the next generation benefit from a first-class public school system like I did. We must also continue our efforts to develop our local workforce to attract new businesses to our community.”

William lives with his wife Emily and their daughter Amelia on Broadway in Versailles.
