Police Reports

The Versailles Police Department responded to six accidents involving injuries, 18 non-injury accidents, two domestic-related complaints, issued two citations/summonses and made two arrests.

On Nov. 10 at 11:41 a.m., Chris S. Bicknell, 34, of 377 Dunroven Road, was eastbound on Huntertown Road in a Nissan Altima when he fainted due to a medical issue and ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree and a home. He was taken to UK Chandler Hospital.

On Nov. 12 at 2:27 p.m., Ron W. Curd, 71, of Nicholasville, ran into a deer on Pinckard Pike near Eckert’s/Boyd Orchard. He was taken to Baptist Hospital.

On Nov. 12 at 6:35 p.m., a Chevy Venture driven by Laura A. Rogers, 31, of 658 Duckers Road in Midway, was eastbound on Leestown Road while a Ford Windstar driven by Joseph D. Bell, 46, of Eminence, was westbound. Bell and a witness said Rogers crossed the center line and side-swiped Bell’s vehicle. Police say Rogers fled on foot before they arrived. Bell was treated at the scene by Woodford County EMS personnel. Police say inattention and not being under proper control on the part of Rogers caused the wreck.

On Nov. 12 at 6:48 p.m., a Ford Ranger driven by Thomas E. Smith, 60, of 369 Douglas Avenue, was northbound on Pisgah Pike approaching a sharp curve after Pisgah Presbyterian Church. Smith lost control on the wet road, went off the left shoulder of the road, struck a plank fence and overturned before landing on its wheels in a ditch. He was treated at the scene by Woodford County EMS workers. Police say inattention and not being under proper control caused the crash.

On Nov. 13 at 4:11 p.m., an Oldsmobile Alero driven by James M. Kovar, 54, of Lexington, was westbound on the Bluegrass Parkway when he ran off the right side of the road and into a ditch. Kovar was issued a citation/summons for DUI.

On Nov. 14 at 8:28 p.m., a Hyundai Tucson driven by Donald R. Hedger, 46, of Stamping Ground, was northbound on Woodlake Road when he struck a deer, then a tree off the right shoulder of the road. A passenger in his vehicle, Jennifer D. Williams, 45, of 1031 Wil Rose Lane, was taken to Frankfort Regional Medical Center.

On Nov. 16, police reported a falsely reported incident on Ryne Court.

On Nov. 17, a report was made of public intoxication (controlled substance) and $700 in vandalism to a toilet at a Lexington Road convenience store.

On Nov. 13, an arrest was made at Kroger for the shoplifting of $513.37 in merchandise.

On Nov. 13, police issued a citation/summons on the Bluegrass Parkway for DUI and possession of heroin.

On Nov. 13, a vehicle was reported leaving the scene of an accident in a Marsailles Road parking lot that caused $600 in damage to a BMW X-5.

On Nov. 13, a Toyota Tundra worth $4,000 was reported stolen on Chestnut Lane.

On Nov. 12, a vehicle was reported leaving the scene of an accident on Leestown Pike.

On Nov. 14, a Stihl chainsaw worth $179.95 was reported stolen in a Princess Circle lot.

On Nov. 14, police made an arrest on North Locust Street for no registration plates, possession of marijuana and possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle.

On Nov. 15, harassment (physical contact, no injury) was reported on Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard.

On Nov. 14, police issued a citation/summons on Lexington Road for marijuana trafficking, 3rd degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Nov. 7, a 9 mm pistol worth $262 was reported stolen on Ryne Court.

On Nov. 11, intentional obstruction of lawful taking of wildlife was reported on Cummins Ferry Road.

Firefighters performed 16 EMS assists during the past week.

On Nov. 14, firefighters responded to an odor of hazardous materials on Spring Run Road.

On Nov. 15, firefighters installed a car seat and responded to a smoke detector on Tyrone Pike.

On Nov. 17, firefighters responded to a controlled burn on Abbey Alley and a faulty alarm system on Thomas Lane. On Nov. 18, firefighters responded to a vehicle accident on

Lexington Street and two false alarms on Markham Drive County
