ow to Double Your Holiday Gift

This is a season of giving for many, and we’re all searching for that special something a loved one will treasure all year long. If the Woodford Humane Society is on your shopping list this year, a great option for that “perfect gift” is a contribution to our SAVE Matching Fund.

Each year, a group of anonymous supporters contributes to a pool of matching funds; this year, that pool is $70,000. It’s up to us to raise $70,000 to be matched, and we have to do it before the end of the year. Every gift of $100 or more will be matched, up to that $70,000 goal; with less than a month left to reach it, the finish line is in sight! But it takes a real community effort to get there.

$70,000 goes a long, long way for a rescue organization on a tight budget. It buys hundreds of thousands of pounds of kitty litter; or tens of thousands of pounds of food; or the spay or neuter surgery for thousands. Or it could cover the entire cost of a stay at Woodford Humane for almost 150 pets. However you slice it, that’s a big deal!

If you’ve been looking for a way to make your donation stretch a little further, and help our pets out all year long, this is it. The value of your gift doubles, and you’ll know you’re supporting the fund that supports us every day of the year.

Here’s how to help:

• Make a tax deductible gift of $100 or more to the SAVE Fund – you can give online at woodfordhumane.org, mail a check (P.O. Box 44, Versailles, KY 40383), or come by the adoption center – we’d love to thank you in person!

• Give by 11:59 p.m. on Dec. 31 – the deadline for this year’s SAVE matching funds.

• Help us spread the word! Whether you are able to give or not, you may be able to reach someone who can. Share our posts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, forward our emails, or just talk to your friends the old-fashioned way: face to face.

The most precious things that the SAVE Fund can provide for the pets at Woodford Humane are the priceless ones: millions of tail wags and purrs; a clean, healthy environment; and comfort during the most difficult time of their lives.

Every gift makes a difference. Thank you to all who have and will give; and to all of our supporters, adopters, and volunteers, may your holidays be full of cold noses and warm hearts!

Contact the Woodford Humane Society at 859.873.5491 or manager@woodfordhumane.org with any questions.
