Gladys Louise Jackson, 70, died on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017, at Baptist Health in Lexington.
Born on January 4, 1947, in Versailles, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Louise Campbell White and Charlie Higgins. She was a graduate of Woodford County High School. She retired from production at GE, worked at Glenda’s Daycare and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mechalle Jackson, Versailles; two sisters, Barbara Higgins, Lexington; Virginia (Ron) Marshall, Virginia; two brothers, Keith (Michelle) White, Georgetown and Daryl Higgins; three grandchildren, Chase Jackson, Lexington; Chad Jackson, Cincinnati; Latrice Bradshaw, Versailles; a great-grandchild, Makaylah Pennie, Versailles; a special niece, three aunts, three uncles, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Gladys was preceded in death by her son, Mark Jackson; a sister, Janice Sykes; and three brothers, Robert White, Charles Higgins, and Charles White.
Services were held on Thursday, Dec. 21, at First Baptist Church, with Rev. Dr. Floyd Greene officiating. Burial followed at Steele Cemetery. Pallbearers were, Glenn Campbell, Wayne Howard, James Campbell Jr., Howard Campbell Jr., Joe Richards Jr. and Elijah Olige. Honorary pallbearers were, Robert Bradshaw, Charles Bradshaw, Stewart Buckner, James Campbell, William Campbell and Joe Richards.
