Sherman T. Dozier, 83, husband of Sue Whitlow Dozier, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2018.

Born on Sept. 4, 1934, in Woodford County, he was the son of the late Clifford Temple and Sarah Simpson Dozier. He was an electrical engineer for McDonnell Douglas Corporation, a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of First Christian Church. He was also a member of the Morgan’s Men Association, the Kentucky Historical Society, a founding member of the Greater St. Louis University of Kentucky Alumni Club, and was a lifetime member of the University of Kentucky Alumni Association. He was also a University of Kentucky Fellow.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Amy (Christopher) Dozier -Samuelson, Ga; a sister, Betty J. Dozier, Versailles; and a granddaughter, Katherine Lanier Samuelson.

He was preceded in death by a twin sister, Shirley Dozier Tinnon.

Visitation will be held Friday, from 4 to 7 p.m. Jan. 12, at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, officiated by Rev. Marcus Lynn. Burial followed at Versailles Cemetery. Honorary casket bearers will be the Versailles High School Class of 1952.
