Bohanan announces candidacy for magistrate

Maria Bohanan has filed her candidacy for Magistrate of the 4th District Woodford County Fiscal Court. A University of Kentucky graduate, she worked in state government for 22 ½ years, handling budget and legislation for Transportation and Health Services cabinets. Maria co-owned Pretty in Pink and previously was Vice Chair of the Woodford County Chamber of Commerce. As an active member and past President of the Versailles Merchants Association, she has been integral in enhancing downtown with the Friday Night Block parties, served on the Mayor’s Task Force for Commercial Retention and Development, and led decorating of the annual courthouse Christmas tree. Maria currently serves on the Woodford County Tourism Commission, Spark Community Cafe board, Chair of the Versailles Fall Festival, Versailles Christmas Festival committee, Downtown Planning Advisory Committee and co-chair of the Distinguished Young Women of Woodford County Be Your Best Self program.
