Simpson


Sarah Jo Robinson Simpson, 65, wife of Donald Edward Simpson, died on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, at the Hospice Care Center in Lexington.

Born on Jan. 17, 1952, in Woodford County, she was the daughter of the late William Craig and Sarah Roberta Tomlin Robinson. She was a member of Versailles Baptist Church, had worked as a sales associate for 18 years at Kmart, and was also employed by the Kentucky Revenue Cabinet.

In addition to her husband of 26 years, she is survived by a daughter, Tammy Jo Reed, Somerset; a son, Bryan (Heather) William Poteete Simpson, Veedersburg, Indiana; a stepson, Donald (Michelle) Scott Simpson, Versailles; a sister, Iva Jane (Charlie) Currens, Versailles; three brothers, Ricky (Nancy) Robinson, Bill (Jean) Robinson, both of Versailles; Ben “Buck” Robinson, Lexington; nine grandchildren, Woodrow Lee Givens, Jonathan Scott Givens, Nikki Givens, Chase Givens, Kylee Simpson, Trenton Simpson, Chase Simpson, Aryanna Lyn Simpson and Spencer Morgan Simpson.

Services were held on Monday, January 15, at Blackburn and Ward Funeral Home with Bro. Frankie Layne and Rev. Dale White officiating. Pallbearers were Scott Simpson, Dwayne Simpson, Ricky Robinson, Bryan Simpson, Charles Arnold, and Vernon Sapp Jr. Interment was at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
