Olivia “Libby” Ward Routt, 79, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, at Baptist Health Lexington, surrounded by her family.
Born on Dec. 16, 1938, in Versailles, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Kennie and Erma French Ward. She attended Versailles High School and was a longtime member of the Versailles Baptist Church. She was employed for 19 years by Texas Instruments and 10 years for the Woodford County Board of Education.
Survivors include five children, Debbie (Larry) Donnell, Garrard County; Rhonda (Jimmy) Chism; Cathy (Bruce) Manley; Joe (Becky) Routt; Tommy Routt, all of Versailles; a brother, Kenny (Kaye) Ward; a sister, Norma Belcher, both of Versailles; eight grandchildren, Amy Guess, Tracie Herne, Travis Manley, Drew Chism, Daniel Chism, Eric Routt, Laura Donnell Richard, Kyle Routt, and seven great-grandchildren, Kayley Guess, Jordyn Higgins, Noah Herne, Adyson Herne, Cooper Chism, Eric Routt, Jackson Routt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, William “Billy” Routt.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 26, at Blackburn and Ward Funeral Home by Pastor Michael Cabell. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters. Burial will follow in the Versailles Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Jan. 25, at the funeral home.
