Horticulture - Gardening for the birds

Join us on Monday, Feb. 12, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Extension Office for a presentation on Gardening for the Birds. Tony Brusate, President of the Central Kentucky Audubon Society, will present tips on choosing native, bird-friendly plants to attract your favorite birds to your yard, binocular basics, bird ID tips, and how you can become involved in watching and counting birds. Admission is free, but you must call the Extension Office at 859-873-4601to register.

2018 Think Spring gardening workshop

Join us on Sat., Mar. 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Extension Office for our annual ‘Think Spring’ gardening workshop presented by the Woodford County Master Gardeners. There will be four educational sessions to choose from and a keynote speaker. Morning refreshments, lunch, and all educational materials are included in the workshop fee. The sessions include Dazzling Daffodils, Pruning; How, When and Why, A Variety of Ways to Propagate Plants, Green Pesticides and Fungicides, and Integrating Ecological Design in Your Garden.
