Police Reports

Versailles police responded to 12 non-injury accidents, one domestic-related complaint and made three arrests.

On Jan. 24, police made an arrest on Church Street for possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and improper display of registration plates.

On Jan. 28, first-degree sodomy and first-degree unlawful imprisonment were reported at a home on Walnut Street in Midway.

On Jan. 16, tampering with physical evidence was reported on St. Clair Street.

On Jan. 22, theft by deception (includes cold checks) involving $117.63 worth of hydraulic fluid was reported at Ace Hardware.

On Jan. 26, theft (receipt of a stolen credit/debit card) was reported at Salt Rox.

On Jan. 28, a wallet and operator’s license were reported stolen from a vehicle on Shady Lane.

On Jan. 29, an arrest was made in the Kroger parking lot for shoplifting $207.90 worth of merchandise, operating on a suspended/revoked operator’s license and public intoxication (controlled substance).

On Jan. 29, the burglary of $1,000 worth of chrome wheels and criminal mischief involving a broken door and jam worth $200 was reported at a storage building on Fieldview Drive.

Fire Reports


Firefighters made 15 EMS assists during the past week and installed one car seat.

On Jan. 23, they responded to a smoke odor on South Locust Street, smoke on Kentucky Avenue and a carbon monoxide detector on Cheney Road.

On Jan. 24, they responded to an odor of rotten eggs on Stout Avenue.

On Jan. 25, they responded to a vehicle accident on Troy Pike.

On Jan. 26, they responded to a tree on fire on Clifton Road.

On Jan. 27, they responded to an electrical burning smell on Loy Street, a smoke odor on Lexington Road, a smoke detector at a vacant house on Merewood Drive, and a vehicle accident on Frankfort Street.

On Jan. 28, they responded to a cooking fire on Lexington Street.

On Jan. 29, they responded to a smoke odor on North Main Street.


Firefighters made three EMS assists during the past week.

On Jan. 23, they responded to a vehicle accident on the Delaney Ferry Extension.

On Jan. 24, they responded to a vehicle accident on I-64 East and helped clean the roadway on Troy Pike.

On Jan. 25, they responded to a motorcycle accident on Midway Road and a burned food odor on Bold Court.

On Jan. 27, they responded to a vehicle accident on U.S. 60 East.

Fire Board to Meet

The Woodford County Fire Protection District Board of Directors will hold their monthly meeting Saturday at 10 a.m. at the new Midway Fire Station at 375 West Leestown Road. The public is invited to this and all board meetings.
