Mat Jackets JV finishes 11th at State Championship

The Woodford County High School JV wrestling team finished 11th at the State Championship on Saturday, Jan. 3 at Union County High School. The JV squad had five state-placers in the tournament.
Ashley Courtney placed fifth in the 106-pound weight class. Courtney was 0-2 and received a pair of bye's in the event.
Cameron Spicer placed fifth in the 113-pound weight class. Spicer won by fall in the fifth place match over Hargrove Parker (Moore).
Cam Bohanon placed fifth in the 126-pound weight class. Bohanon was 3-2 in the tournament with all three wins by fall.
David Chapelle did not place in the 126-pound weight class. Chapelle was 1-2 in the tournament.
Iam Ferrell did not place in the 132-pound weight class. Ferrell was 0-2 in the tournament.
Tanyea Ramirez did not place in the 138-pound weight class. Ramirez lost both of her matches by decision.
Stephen Reed did not place in the 138-pound weight class. Reed was 0-2 in the tournament.
Joseph Rivera did not place in the 145-pound weight class. Rivera was 0-2 in the event.
James Chavez placed third in the 145-pound weight class. Chavez had three wins by fall including the third-place match where he won in 53 seconds. Isaac Reed did not place in the 152-pound weight class. Reed was 0-2 in the event.
Emmanuel Hernandez did not place in the 160-pound weight class. Hernandez was 0-2 in the event.
Mequoia Bernabe did not place in the 220-pound weight class. Bernabe lost a pair of decisions and was 0-2 in the event.
Seth Spaulding placed second in the 220-pound weight class. Spaulding was 2-1 in the tournament, including one win by fall.
