Owens to run for sheriff

Danny Owens is honored to announce his candidacy for Woodford County Sheriff.

He is a lifelong resident of Woodford County. He and his wife Rebecca have four sons, Danny, Cameron, Alex and Brandon. Danny is the son of Gene and Faye Traugott Owens and has four siblings, Ronald (Joann) Owens, Linda (Buddy) Flora, Janice Weeks, and Michelle (Al) Beatty.

He is a 1994 graduate of Woodford County High School and received law enforcement training from the Department of Criminal Justice in Richmond from 1994-2011 while serving as Chief Deputy Coroner. Danny has worked with Woodford County law-enforcement and first responders for 27 years. He has experience working with local detectives, police officers, firefighters and ambulance personnel. He also worked with Kentucky State Police, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).

Over the years Danny has gained experience in public relations, including public interviews, news station interviews, and giving depositions in the presence of attorneys. He is more than qualified to become the next Woodford County Sheriff.

He pledges to work hard for Woodford County on an endless mission of serving and protecting its people.
