June Stanley Dawson, 92, of Versailles, widow of Charles O. Dawson, died Friday, Feb. 16, 2018, at Jefferson Place in Louisville.

She was a native of Pond Creek. She graduated from Belfry High School and Berea College. She was a retired teacher who taught many years at Belfry High School and was active in First Christian Church, Woodford Hospital Auxiliary and the American Cancer Society.

Survivors include a son, Stan (Ellen) Dawson, Louisville; two grandchildren, Connor and Olivia Dawson; four nieces, Vikki Clemons, Susan Mobley, Beth (Thomas) Graham and Judy Clemons; two nephews, John (Gina) Clemons and Nick (Mimi) Snyder. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Elsa Mae “Fannie” Stanley; two sisters, Odessa Snyder and Merle Clemons; and a nephew, Gil Clemons.

Services were conducted on Tuesday, Feb. 20, at Blackburn and Ward Funeral Home with Rev. Marcus Lynn officiating. Pallbearers were Caleb Clemons, Jason Clemons, John Clemons, Joshua Clemons, Jim DeBold, Billy Hurrigan, Michael Kunjoo, David Landrum and Steven Mobley. Burial followed at Rose Crest Cemetery.
