Last week we incorrectly identified the Woodford County Attorney race as one with a contested primary. Incumbent Alan George does not have a primary opponent and is unopposed in the general election. The Sun regrets the error and has adjusted the schedule for our question and answer series.
In the weeks leading up to the May 22 primary, candidates in contested races will be posed a few questions and strongly encouraged to answer them with specifics, not partisan rhetoric or attacks.
We’re encouraging Sun readers to submit their own questions by email (email@example.com) or by mailing them to our office at 184 South Main Street, Versailles, 40383. You can also drop them off at our office at 184 South Main Street.
Here’s the revised schedule for our Election 2018 Primary Q & A series:
March 29: District Judge
April 5: Circuit Judge
April 12: County Clerk
April 19: U.S. House of Representatives (6th District)
April 26: Jailer
May 3: Sheriff
May 10: Magistrates (Part 1)
May 17: Magistrates (Part 2)
The filing deadline for nonpartisan races (councils and mayors) and independents is Aug. 14. We’ll begin our Q & A series with them in mid-July.
