Police Reports

Versailles police responded to two accidents involving injuries, six non-injury accidents, one domestic-related complaint, issued two citation/summonses and made four arrests.

On Feb. 12 at 12:30 p.m., a Dodge Avenger driven by Lauren M. Gillis, 19, of Frankfort, was southbound on Woodlake Road approaching the intersection with West Leestown Pike. A Nissan Quest driven by Antone G. Miller, 48, of Frankfort, was westbound on West Leestown Pike approaching the intersection with Woodlake Road. A witness said Gillis didn’t stop at the intersection’s stop sign and crossed into the path of Miller. Gillis, Miller and two passengers in Miller’s vehicle, Molena Wilson, 33 and Joshua Wilson, 7, of the same Frankfort address, were all sent to area hospitals. Police say Gillis disregarded a traffic control device, failed to yield and was inattentive. Andrew R. Strong, 39, of Louisville, told police that on Feb. 13 at 5:25 p.m., his Chevrolet Express and a Honda Accord driven by Hillary K. Adams, 34, of Lexington, were both stopped at the red light on the U.S. 60 Bypass at Merewood Drive. Strong said when the light turned green, he began to move forward and struck Adams’s vehicle. Adams and a passenger, Jason Hall, 43, address unavailable, were taken to Bluegrass Community Hospital.

On Jan. 26, police made an arrest on Lexington Road for possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Feb. 1, police made an arrest in a Lexington Road parking lot for possession of heroin.

On Feb. 13, a vehicle was reported leaving the scene of an accident on Old Frankfort Pike.

On Feb. 13, harassing communications were reported on McCowans Ferry Alley West.

On Feb. 19, police issued a citation/summons on Frankfort Road for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and rim or frame obscuring lettering on decal on plate.

On Feb. 18, second-degree wanton endangerment was reported at a home on Elm Street Heights.

On Feb. 19, a Kentucky EPO was reported violated at a home on Garnett Court.

On Feb. 17, a Coolster motor vehicle worth $1,000 was reported stolen from a home on Ann Street.

On Feb. 17, a shotgun and jewelry worth a total of $815 were reported stolen from a home on Beacon Hill Drive.

On Feb. 16, a Galaxy cell phone and toiletries worth a total of $801 were reported stolen from a government building on Court Street.

On Feb. 20, police made an arrest on Grainger Lane for DUI, failure of owner to maintain required insurance and one headlight.

On Feb. 15, police made an arrest on Frankfort Road for driving on a DUI-suspended license, possession of methamphetamine and inadequate silencer.

On Feb. 15, police issued a citation/summons on Macey Boulevard for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and one headlight.

Fire Reports

City

Firefighters performed 21 EMS assists and installed one car seat during the past week.

On Feb. 13, firefighters responded to a vehicle accident on the U.S. 60 Bypass.

On Feb. 14, they responded to a natural gas odor on Oak Street and a vehicle accident on Lexington Road.

On Feb. 15, they responded to a natural gas odor on Oak Street.

On Feb. 16, they responded to smoke from a malfunctioning microwave oven on Curry Court.

On Feb. 17, they responded to a vehicle accident on the U.S. 60 Bypass.

On Feb. 19, they responded twice to natural gas odors on Oak Street.

County

Firefighters performed four EMS assists during the past week.

On Feb. 16, they responded to a gas smell on Laurel Way.

On Feb. 18, they responded to a smoking vehicle on U.S. 60 East.

On Feb. 19, they responded to grass fires on Fords Mill Road and Shannon Run Road.

Animal Control

Woodford County Animal Control (879-0598) is holding the following stray dog: a neutered white and black male pointer mix and the following stray cat: a domestic short-haired orange and white female young adult.

Animal Control holds stray pets for five days. A list of impounded animals may be found on the front door of the animal control building at 210 Beasley Road.
