Academic News Western Kentucky University Turner Reynolds of Versailles, a senior at Woodford County High School, was selected to receive a 2018-19 Cherry Presidential Scholarship to Western Kentucky University. She is pictured with WKU President Timothy C. Caboni. She plans to major in Communication Studies.

Georgia Institute of Technology

Cecille Canary of Versailles earned the distinction of Faculty Honors for the fall 2017 semester at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Centre College

The following students from Woodford County pledged to fraternities or sororities at Centre College: Shelby Hammonds of Versailles pledged Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She is the daughter of Evan and Susan Hammonds and is a graduate of Lexington Catholic High; Peyton Popp of Versailles pledged Beta Theta Pi fraternity. He is the son of Berry and Susan Popp and a graduate of Woodford County High School; Graham Kain of Midway pledged Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He is the son of Bill and Lynne Kain and is a graduate of Woodford County High School and Lily Murphy of Midway pledged Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She is the daughter of Roger Murphy of Lexington and Laura Wolfrom of Midway and is a graduate of Woodford County High School.

Eastern Kentucky University
