Johnson announces candidacy for the office of mayor

Lisa C. Johnson announces she will be seeking the office of Mayor of the City of Versailles. After a career in the pharmaceutical industry, Lisa founded “Mentors & Meals,” a non-profit which enhances academic achievement in middle school students through mentoring. The program, utilizing mentors from Woodford High School along with college interns and adult volunteers, has earned state, local and regional awards. Lisa is co-chair of Woodford Agency for Substance Abuse Policy, Chamber of Commerce Women in Business, member of Downtown Planning Advisory Committee, and completed the Leadership Woodford County Program.

“The residents of Versailles deserve a representative who will be a voice for them and put their interests first,” said Lisa. “If elected, I will work hard to increase economic impact through tourism and business development, be a champion for education, and encourage arts, retail and recreation in our city. Together, we can build a stronger community and help Versailles achieve its full potential.”

She graduated from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio with a degree in Business Administration and received her Master of Public Administration from the University of Kentucky. “I am proud to be a Woodford Countian and would be honored to serve as your next mayor” (www.lisaformayor.com).
