Midway University cross country head coach Rob Lyon is pleased to announce the signing of Henry Clay standout Julia Sammet. Sammet chose Midway because of the equine program and also because of the camaraderie she felt among the team when she visited campus. She plans to major in equine science.

In her four years of competitive running in high school, Julia qualified for the Kentucky state meet all four years. She also earned all-city honors three years as well as all region twice. Her personal best time of20:44 makes her a threat to medal in most invitational meets as well as the conference meet.

"We are very pleased to have Julia join our team this fall," said Lyon. "Having competed since she was in middle school, she brings a wealth of experience to the team. She is also very accomplished in the sport and will have an immediate impact on this year’s team.”
