Police Reports

Versailles police responded to four accidents involving injuries, seven non-injury accidents, one domestic-related complaint and made one arrest.

On Feb. 23 at 6:58 p.m., a Chevrolet Silverado driven by Olson L. Stivers, 61, of Lexington, was eastbound on U.S. 60 East when Stivers failed to stop at a red light at Shannon Run Road and struck a northbound Kia Spectra driven by Jennifer M. Ellwood, 31, of Lexington. Stivers was taken to UK Chandler Hospital.

On Feb. 23 at 9:20 p.m., a Toyota RAV 4 driven by Donna C. Couch, 59, was attempting to turn left from the U.S. 60 Bypass onto Merewood Drive when a westbound Toyota Camry driven by Erin M. Bowen, 41, of 343 Chestnut Lane, struck Couch’s vehicle. Police say Couch failed to yield. Bowen was taken to Baptist Hospital.

On Feb. 24 at 2:18 p.m., a Ford Fusion driven by Kimberly S. Castle, 52, of 924 Altamont Court, was eastbound on Lexington Street attempting to turn left while a Toyota Camry driven by Lillian F. Nelson, 17, of 324 Ridgewood Drive, was westbound on Lexington Street. Police say Nelson was distracted and failed to yield and the vehicles collided. Castle and a passenger, Charles W. Castle of Offutt, were taken to Bluegrass Community Hospital.

On Feb. 25 at 11:47 a.m., an Aprilia RSV4-R ridden by William O. Foster, 54, of Lexington, was northbound on Big Sink Road when it hit a patch of gravel and Foster lost control and struck a fence post and wire fencing. Foster was taken to St. Joseph Hospital.

On Feb. 28, police made an arrest on Lexington Road for DUI, possession of marijuana and one headlight.

On Feb. 27, a mailbox on Will Parkway was vandalized, with damage estimated at $100.

On Feb. 27, an iPhone 6S was reported stolen on exit 62 of I-64 West.

On Feb. 21, about 25 vehicle batteries worth a total of $1,000 were reported stolen on Old Frankfort Pike.

Fire Reports

City

Firefighters performed 15 EMS assists and installed one smoke detector.

On Feb. 28, they responded to a natural gas odor on Oak Street.

On March 1, they responded to a fire alarm at Quad/Graphics.

On March 3, they responded to a natural gas odor on Oak Street.

County

Firefighters performed two EMS assists.

On Feb. 28, they responded to a vehicle accident at the intersection of U.S. 341 and Leestown Road.

On March 2, they responded to a fire alarm on McCracken Pike.

Animal Control

Woodford County Animal Control (879-0598) is holding the following stray dogs: a black, red and white female rottweiler mix; a blue Merle, tan and white miniature male Australian shepherd and a black and white female border collie, terrier mix.

They have the following stray cat: a female, solid black domestic short-hair.

Animal Control holds stray pets for five days. A list of impounded animals may be found on the front door of the animal control building at 210 Beasley Road.
