All-state runner from Central Hardin signs with Midway

Midway University cross country is excited to announce the signing of Central Hardin All State runner Emily Chandler. Emily chose Midway because of the equine program which allows her to concentrate her studies in equine rehab.

In her years of competitive running in high school, Emily qualified for the Kentucky state meet a total of nine times, including five in cross country and track in distances ranging from the 800-meter to 3200-meter. Her junior year she was the regional champion in the 800. This past fall she placed 16th in the state cross country meet and was named to the Kentucky All State team.

"We are very pleased to have Emily join our team this fall," said Midway Coach Rob Lyon. "Having competed since she was in middle school, she brings a wealth of experience to the team. What is probably most impressive is her versatility. She has been competitive in all mid-distance and distance in track plus the 5k in cross country. She will have an impact on our team the next four years.”
