Election 2018

After the recent disqualifications of candidates for jailer and magistrate, the Sun has finalized its Q&A schedule for candidates in contested races for the May 22 primary. Candidates will be held to a strict word count for answers and are strongly encouraged to answer the questions rather than rely on partisan rhetoric or personal attacks. Ultimately, it will be up to our readers to decide whether participating candidates followed the latter guideline. We’re encouraging Sun readers to submit their own questions by email (john@woodfordsun.com) or by mailing them to our offices at P. O. Box 29, Versailles, 40383. You can also drop them off here at 184 South Main Street. Primary 2018 Q&A schedule: April 19: Woodford County Clerk April 26: Woodford County Sheriff May 3: U.S. House of Representatives, 6th District May 10: Magistrates, 1st and 2nd District (Democrats); 3rd District (Republicans) May 17: Magistrates, 4th District (Democrats); 6th District (Republicans); 8th District (Democrats)
