Edwin (Eddie) Francis Knight II, 75, husband of Charlene Knight, died Friday, March 16, 2018, at his home in Little Germany.

Born on April 25, 1942, in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Edwin Francis and Flora Violet Gardner Knight. He was a 1960 graduate of Versailles High School. He was a life-long farmer and owner/operator of Knight Welding. He was involved in many projects such as the Cumberland Gap Tunnel and mowing I-64 from Louisville to the West Virginia state line. He was a member and deacon of Millville Baptist Church, and like any true farmer, he had a passion for collecting antique John Deere tractors.

In addition to his wife of 55 years, he is survived by three sons, Eddie Knight III, Brian Carey Knight, and Shawn (Jessica) Knight, all of Little Germany; a brother, Barry (Brenda) Knight, Versailles; a sister-in-law, Evie Knight, Little Germany; and five grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Phil Knight.

Services were conducted Wednesday, March 21, at Blackburn and Ward Funeral Home by Rev. Dr. Garner Clark. Pallbearers were Jed Wiley, Gardner Knight, Wendell Guffey, Joe Meador, Lawrence Morton and Bryan Johnson. Honorary bearers were the Millville Breakfast Club. Burial followed a procession through Millville to Frankfort Cemetery

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Millville Baptist Church Building Fund, 5600 McCracken Pike, Frankfort, 40601 or Hospice of the Bluegrass, 663 Teton Trail, Frankfort, 40601.
