Pearly Lancaster Slatten, 81, widow of Benjamin “Art” Slatten, died Monday, March 19, 2018, at Homestead Nursing Home in Lexington.
Born on Dec. 6, 1936, in Woodford County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Marie Shea Lancaster Sr. She was a graduate of Versailles High School and had been a sales clerk for C & D market and Poor Man’s Paradise in Versailles.
Survivors include four children, Arnold (Debbie) L. Slatten, Sharon (Donnie Crowe) Kay Rice, Barry (Doris) L. Slatten and Chris S. Slatten; a sister, Alma Barrick; a special niece, Betty (Keith) Curry, all of Versailles; several nieces and nephews, nine grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Joshua Rice; a sister, Netti Jean Toll; and two brothers, Robert Lancaster Jr. and Saint Elmo Lancaster.
Services will be held at 7 p.m. today, Thursday, March 22, at Blackburn and Ward Funeral Home. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 4 p.m.until service time at 7 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 23, at Rose Crest Cemetery.
